Most communities have a logo. Many have a coat of arms and a flag. Norfolk County has all of these and one other symbol that sets it apart.

Norfolk County was named by John Graves Simcoe after a county in England of the same name. The English county takes its name from Anglo-Saxon terms meaning “the northern people” with the name appearing in wills dating back to 1043.
The dogwood flower is native to the area, and the four petals represent the former municipalities of Norfolk, Delhi, Simcoe and Nanticoke that merged to form the county.
